Judge a book by its cover

Sometimes its good to be single-minded. Kickmaster is an action platformer released late in the NES’ lifespan. It features some of the better spritework on the system and a satisfying combat engine to boot. It gives off very strong Castlevania vibes right from the title screen and this continues throughout the whole game, from the monster design to the stage layouts to the catchy music.

There are a lot of platformers on the NES but Kickmaster is definitely worth your time, especially when you  want to stop overthinking things and just let some stress out. Sometimes you don’t want to play a deep RPG or an immersive sim. This is a simple game where you kick bad guys – ’nuff said!

Do you like the sound of a game where you kick a whole bunch of bad guys into oblivion? Then Kickmaster is for you.
