Quote – Nolan Bushnell

Atari’s rise and fall represent important eras of gaming history. Nolan Bushnell reflected on them in an AMA, particularly when it came to the sale of Atari to Warner Communications and the way he believes it brought about the beginning of the end for the company.

Atari had a very unique corporate culture that reflected the company’s rebellious beginnings. However, its integration into Warner Communications brought about significant change. Nolan still regrets the sale and the impact it had on Atari’s long-term existence.

I think that Atari would still be important today, if that sale hadn’t occurred.
