Psycho platforming

The Master System’s library was not as extensive as that of the NES. Despite this, there were several gems hidden away in there that deserve mention. One of them is Psycho Fox, which remains one of the smoothest platformers of the era.

Psycho Fox was a beautiful platformer that really showed off the capabilities of the Master System hardware. The hook lay in its varied gameplay – players could change into different animals during a stage, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. It was similar to Super Mario Bros 2, except much more dynamic.

Psycho Fox may never be as popular as Sonic or even Alex Kidd, but it was definitely one of the Master System’s best titles and is still good fun today.
